Remy Broussard was awarded a four-year, $1,500 per year scholarship to the University of Wyoming.
When people describe Remy, they use the words integrity, respect, character, role model, and team player.
More than one person described Remy as another “Rob Russell.” He is a leader, an accomplished athlete who maintained a 3.8+ GPA throughout his high school career. He is active in school and community, such as DANO Youth camp, Cody CAN, and numerous sports. He was voted captain of the 2022-23 football team, and was all-state soccer. He will play in the 2023 Shrine Bowl.
His most valued trait is his ability to balance athletics, school, family and service leadership. He truly “works hard, plays hard, and studies hard.”
Remy will pursue a degree in kinesiology at UW.
In awarding this scholarship, the selection committee was very mindful to choose a recipient who embodies respect for others, kindness and integrity, as Rob did. Remy and Lane have certainly demonstrated that they have these qualities along with the drive to succeed in whatever they puts their mind to. We are so honored to be a small part of what we predict will be very successful careers. They will most definitely be a huge contribution to society.
A huge Thank You goes out to all of our Donors for making this possible!
LANE ROHDE – 2023
The second awardee is Lane Rohde. Lane is being awarded a one-time $1,000 scholarship.
Lane’s strong character is demonstrated by the choices he has made, the goals he has set, and the respect he’s shown for others. Lane’s goals, as both an athlete and person, are to make positive choices, treat others with respect and live life with empathy and compassion.
Lane was the kicker for the CHS football team, played lacrosse, enjoys snowboarding, motocross, hiking and mountain biking.
Lane has maintained a 3.9 GPA. His character, discipline and strong work ethic are an inspiration and truly represents the traits the Rob Russell Memorial Scholarship promotes.
Lane will pursue an education in mechanical engineering at the University of Wyoming.
